|Intern Simulation Engineer
Racing Engineering is offering an internship within its engineering department to participate in the development of its in-house software suite. This includes Database Management software, Vehicle Dynamics Simulation, Driver In the Loop (DIL) Simulator and Lap time Simulation software.
This opportunity allows the student to be part of the simulation group, in direct contact with our GP2 race / data / simulation engineers, to pursue the ongoing development of our own software based on Matlab - Simulink.
A good knowledge of this software is therefore requested, as well as a good vehicle dynamics understanding. Understanding of Simscape would be a bonus.
During this project, the student will be in charge of developing and debugging different engineering computer based tools currently used by our GP2 Race Team and continuing their development. This will include direct work on Racing Engineering technical database and Simulation software, to guarantee their well-functioning and contribute to their improvement.
Punctual development of the DIL simulator can also be asked to the student, as well as following DIL sessions with professional race drivers.
The student should be responsible and capable of working on his own, as well as being a team player. Correctly spoken and written English is requested (knowledge of French and Spanish will be a bonus).
The training period should start around mid-July 2017, with duration of at least 6 months. A preference would be given to a student doing a sandwich year between mid-July 2017 and mid-July 2018.
The company will take care of the accommodation of the student.
The student should provide a valid internship convention delivered by the University / Engineering School.
The project activity will take place in Racing Engineering offices, in Sanlucar de Barrameda (Cadiz)-Spain, and doesn’t include travels to the race events.
