This weekend sees the GP2 teams travel to Germany for round six of the 2014 GP2 Series which will be held on the Hockenheim circuit. The track alternates with the Nürburgring as the home of the German Grand Prix and the Racing Engineering team have always performed well here in previous visits and they will be looking to continue the success that both their drivers, Stefano Coletti and Raffaele Marciello, have achieved in recent race weekends.
Below Stefano Coletti looks forward to this weekend’s racing:
Austria and Silverstone were two race weekends, which went well for you with two 4th places and 2 podium finishes. Are you pleased with the points gained during the last two rounds?
I was happy with the past two weekends. The team did a fantastic job and gave me the opportunity to score a lot of points. We were the ones scoring the most points during these two weekends, so we have to continue in this way.
The next venue on the calendar is the Hockenheimring. Do you think you will be able to continue with the same strong performance there?
Hockenheim is a track I especially like. In previous years I have been a front runner in all categories on this track and I hope to continue like this. I think the team will do a good job and provide me with a car to win.
The German Hockenheimring is a very special track given its mixture of high-speed sections and the slow corners through the Motodrom. In your opinion, what are the track’s peculiarities and/or challenges?
The fast corners are quite difficult; especially turn 1 and the entrance of the Motodrom. It’s a track where the driver needs to be complete to be at the front as it’s exactly the mixture between high and slow speed corners, which is the particularity of this track.
What are your expectations for the weekend and who do you think will be your biggest competitors on track?
I hope we can get the first win of the season, starting with a good qualifying. As always, I think the biggest competition will come from Palmer and Nasr. |
