The penultimate round of the 2014GP2 Series sees the teams and drivers facing a new challenge, the Russian circuit of Sochi, this will be the first time the GP2 Series has visited this new track. The Sochi Autodrom is located at the Black Sea resort of Sochi and is 5.848 Kms in length and is built around the site of the 2014 Winter Olympics.

The Racing Engineering drivers, Raffaele Marciello and Stefano Coletti, will be looking to continue their success in recent race weekends which have seen Lello take his maiden GP2 win in the Feature Race at Spa and Stefano finish second in the Monza Sprint Race. The fact that this is a new circuit has benefits to both drivers, Lello’s GP2 inexperience will not be a disadvantage because none of the drivers have raced here before and Stefano’s great experience of GP2 should aid him in developing a good setup with the engineers of the Spanish team.

This weekend will see Pirelli supply the P Zero White medium and P Zero Yellow soft tyres, the Autodrom  is the third longest track on the GP2 calendar and it is thought that the surface will be abrasive as it is a semi-permanent street circuit so it will vital that the teams quickly come up with a setup that combines speed and consistency without causing excessive tyre wear.
