Racing Engineering are back in action at the Spa Francorchamps 4-Hours.
The fourth round of the 2018 European Le Mans Series, held at the Silverstone Circuit in England, proved to be a disappointment for Racing Engineering, After a very successful start in their debut season in the Championship where the Spanish team won the opening event at Paul Ricard and finished second at the Red Bull Ring, mechanical failure saw their Oreca-Gibson retire from the race with just twenty-five minutes of the four hour race left when they were in a very strong second-place. Despite this setback the team are still lying in second place in the LMP2 Team Championship and their drivers, Norman Nato and Paul Petit, are third and Olivier Pla fourth in their Championship.

This weekend sees round five of the Series taking place at the legendary Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium and the whole team are determined to put the Silverstone setback behind them and return to the podium. After missing the last round due to a clashing commitment Frenchman Olivier Pla will be returning to the cockpit for this race.

Spa Francorchamps contains some of the most famous corners in racing over its 7.004 km length with such historic names as Eau Rouge, Radillon, Les Combes, Stavelot, Blanchimont and La Source. With its mixture of very fast and very slow corners, changes in elevation and high-speed straights it is a circuit that requires total commitment from a driver and this, in turn, requires a very good set up to his chassis as the circuit is very hard on tyres and it is not unusual for rain and changeable conditions to affect the circuit.
