Racing Engineering and the other competitors in the 2019 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series will face a new challenge this weekend when they will be racing at the Raceway Venray in Holland, the only race of the season to take placed on an oval circuit. The team’s four drivers, Ander Vilariño and Romain Iannetta in Elite 1 with Myatt Snider in Elite 2, are looking forward to this new challenge although for Myatt it will not be such a novelty as he already has a lot of experience of ovals from his racing in the US. In a change to the normal Timetable there will be just one Elite 2 race on Saturday and one Elite 1 race on Sunday
The track consists of a banked half mile oval surfaced in asphalt with, of course, four corners. As this is the first time EuroNASCAR has raced here there is no previous data but the current lap record is 19.033 seconds set in 2014 by a LMV8 Supercup car so the EuroNASCAR cars should be quicker and we can expect some fast and furious racing over the weekend.
