The 2019 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series comes to a climax this weekend when Zolder in Belgium hosts the double points NASCAR GP of Belgium Series Finals. This year has been very hard fought, and the Racing Engineering team will be looking to score as many points as possible. The team’s three usual drivers, Ander Vilariño and Romain Iannetta in Elite 1, currently lying fourth and ninth in the Drivers’ Championship with Myatt Snider fifth in Elite 2 will be looking to maximise their points scores to allow them to finish as high as possible in the final standings. Similarly, in the Team Championship, a good result for the number 48 car could see Racing Engineering finishing in the runner-up spot.
Swiss driver Hugo De Sadeleer will be returning to the Spanish team in the second Elite 2 car following his amazing Euro NASCAR debut at Hockenheim two weeks ago when he finished second and third in his two races. Hugo is not registered for the Series so he is not eligible to score any points.
The 4.011 km (2.492 mi) Zolder circuit has been the location of the F1 Belgian GP in past years and it comprise ten corners of varying speeds linked by some fast straights which should make for some very exciting races over the weekend.
